EirGrid has launched a consultation on plans to develop transmission grid infrastructure for connecting offshore wind farms along Ireland's south coast. The project aims to support Ireland's target of producing 80% of electricity from renewable sources. 

The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue TD, has established a Commission on Generational Renewal in Farming to address the critical challenge of an ageing farming sector in Ireland. With only 7% of farmers under 35 and over 30% above 65, this consultation seeks to understand and address the barriers to generational renewal in Irish agriculture.
