Public Consultation on Draft Standard – I.S. 6:202X Pre-cast Concrete Sewer Pipes and Fittings

The National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) has launched a public consultation on the draft standard I.S. 6:202X, which outlines requirements for pre-cast concrete sewer pipes and fittings used in gravity pipeline systems.

This consultation provides stakeholders and industry professionals the opportunity to review and comment on the proposed technical specifications.

Overview of the Draft Standard

I.S. 6:202X sets out additional and complementary requirements to those defined in I.S. EN 1916:2002 for unreinforced and reinforced concrete pipes up to nominal size DN 1750. It also extends requirements for circular pipes beyond DN 1750 up to DN 3000.

Where applicable, links to I.S. EN 1916:2002 are clearly marked in the document using clause references.

This standard applies to precast concrete pipes and fittings intended for the conveyance of sewage, rainwater, and surface water under gravity, typically in buried pipelines.

This draft does not apply to egg-shaped piping.
