Gort Local Area Plan 2025-2031 - Public Consultation Galway County Council

Closing Date: 4pm, Thursday 20th February 2025 

Galway County Council has published the Draft Local Area Plan 2025-2031 for Gort, along with associated documents including a Local Transport Plan, Strategic Environmental Assessment, Appropriate Assessment, and Strategic Flood Risk Assessment. This comprehensive suite of planning documents will guide Gort's development over the next six years. 

The draft plans can be viewed at multiple locations including the Planning Office at Áras an Chontae (Galway), Gort Library, and Gort Area Office during their respective opening hours.  

All documents are also available online at https://consult.galway.ie/en/consultation/draft-gort-local-area-plan-2025-2031. 

Submissions can be made in writing to the Forward Planning Section at Áras an Chontae, online through the consultation portal, or via email to forwardplanning@galwaycoco.ie. The council particularly welcomes input from children and groups representing children's interests. 

This consultation is being conducted under Section 20 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and related EU directives concerning environmental assessment and habitat protection.
